Pursuits: Data That Drives Safety

LogIn, Inc. -- producer of IACP Net and Pursuits -- has published a comprehensive report that analyzes pursuit data and is immediately available exclusively to IACP Net and Pursuits members. "Pursuits: Data That Drives Safety" provides a thorough analysis of more than 1700 pursuit records entered into Pursuits, LogIn's web-based pursuit tracking tool, from 2009 and 2010. Data analyzed surrounding each pursuit includes: initial violation, environmental conditions, termination, officer and suspect information, injuries and fatalities, property damage, and more. It is the policy of this department to investigate officer involved shooting incidents with the utmost thoroughness, professionalism and impartiality to determine if an officer's actions conform with the law and this agency's policy on the use of force. Funding - Bulletproof Vests

The Bureau of Justice Assistance has announced the Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 BVP application funding period. Reimbursement of up to 50 percent of the cost of each unit of eligible body armor purchased for law enforcement officers. A "mandatory wear" policy is required to receive BVP funds in FY 2011.
