Equipment Funding: How to Write a Successful Grant Proposal & Increase Your Purchasing Power

Law enforcement agencies are continually asked to do more with less, leaving them with fewer financial resources to fund community programs and purchase essential life-saving equipment. In order to combat this financial deficit, many agencies turn to grant funding. Grants can be a great source for funding worthwhile projects, but it takes persistence, patience, research, time and follow-through. However, if you are successful at acquiring grants, you will quickly become the hero in your department and in your community. This document is located in the Core Database under document #610061.

Vest For Life: A Life-Saving Project

It has been reported that approximately 3000 officers have been saved from death or serious injury by protecting themselves with body armor. Wearing body armor while carrying out the duties of a law enforcement officer will greatly reduce the risk of death and injury that officers face on a daily basis. Sadly, a recent report states that less than 60 percent of chiefs and heads of agencies require their officers to wear this life-saving protection while working. Vest for Life is a lifesaving project focused on providing officers who do not have ballistic vests with such. This document is located in the Core Database under document #609870.
