"Vehicle Pursuits"
This policy is from the Tulsa, Oklahoma, Police Department Policies and Procedures Manual. The decision to pursue a motor vehicle is among the most critical made by law enforcement officers. This decision must often be made in tense, uncertain, and rapidly changing circumstances. The department has a duty to enforce the law and apprehend violators of the law. This duty must be exercised in accordance with federal and state law. This full text of this policy is located in the Policies Database under document #546391.

"Public Protection: Liability for the Actions of Prisoners and Former Prisoners"
Prisoners, while in the confines of correctional institutions, being transported to court or for purposes of medical treatment, or on work assignments that necessitate their presence in the outside world, as well as escaped prisoners, have, from time to time, committed acts of violence and other criminal acts against private persons. In a small, but significant, number of lawsuits courts have been faced with the issue of whether and when correctional institutions, officials, or employees should face some measure of legal liability for the consequences of those actions. More information on this can be located in the Core Database under document #603487.
