DATABASES "Framing a Law Enforcement Response: Addressing Community Concerns About Sex Offenders" To better prepare law enforcement officers to respond to questions from the public about sex offenders and their crimes, this pamphlet from the IACP provides talking points designed to help officers frame a response to 10 frequently asked questions. This document, which includes a pdf version of the pamphlet, is located in the Core Database under document #594311. "Documenting the Use of Force" Incidents requiring the use of force by police are an unfortunate reality for law enforcement agencies. Each occurrence demands accurate documentation that demonstrates in detail the necessity of such a response. On this subject, the U.S. Supreme Court stated "the question is whether the officers' actions are 'objectively reasonable' in light of the facts and circumstances confronting them." Despite this emphasis by the Court, use-of-force documentation frequently excludes many of the details that could help explain and justify officers' decisions. The full text of this article can be located in the Core Database under document #594473. NETWORKING Is Your Information Correct? Do we have your most up-to-date contact information?
