Passwords Has it been a while since you've changed your password? You might want to consider doing so. Passwords are the primary defense and front-line of security. Current standards state that a password should be at least eight characters in length, including at least one letter and one number or symbol. IACP Net has updated their guidelines for all newly changed passwords to comply with this. While we have not had a security issue, we feel it is best to be proactive when it comes to the protection of our system. If it's been a while, we suggest you go to the Change Password section today, located under the Support heading. President's Day Holiday Hours Our office will be closed on Monday, February 16, for President's Day. We wish you a safe and happy holiday. DATABASES "Should Officers See Video of Their Encounters?" As part of the report-writing process, the officers' department traditionally permits its personnel to view video from arrest scenes, and it saw no reason that the officers involved shouldn't see recordings of the Tasering before they were interviewed, to stimulate their memories of what occurred. The investigating agency, however, felt strongly that the videos from dash-cams and the Taser should not be seen prior to the officers giving their official statements, lest the viewing color their recollections. More information on this can be located in the Core Database under document #602815. "Characteristics of Suspected Human Trafficking Incidents, 2007-08" This report is the first in a series that will describe the number and characteristics of suspected human trafficking investigations and their outcomes in the United States. Data in this report represent a snapshot of the investigations opened by 38 federally funded human trafficking task forces. This document is located in the Core Database under document #602770.
